Kim HyunJoo is an industrial and craft designer focused on furniture, lighting, tableware, products, public facilities, and sculpture. Her obsession is nature and natural materials, interpreted through a fusion of contemporary life and the Korean ethos. She works mainly stone, and especially marble, and Hanji - Korean mulberry paper.

SEOUL tray Solid-Wallnut : The Seoul tray made of high quality North American walnut wood has irregular pentagon shape created by simplifying the map of Seoul-the capital of South Korea. It’s specially produced by CNC machine, but finished by hand sanding. The surface has treated with a Tung oil. The tung oil is perfect for kitchenware because it is harmless and food safe advantage, but cannot be used for people who has nut allergy. It comes in two sizes, medium and small.
Green Jeju tray : The Green Jeju Tray has created by simplifying the map of Jeju island, a beautiful Green island in South Korea. This tray could be used for table centerpiece, cheese tray, and so on.
HANJI Leaf tray : The Hanji Leaf tray reminds us of autumn leaves. With the unique texture of Hanji paper and the vivid indents of leaf veins, the tray has a flexible wire structure inside that allows you to shape the form into a customized container or surface. The Natural Shellac Varnish, and Korean lacquer painting (Ottchil) ensures that the Green & dark brown leaves are mildly waterproof.
HANJI Lotus leaf tray : The Lotus Leaf tray reminds us of autumn leaves. With the unique texture of Hanji paper and the vivid indents of leaf veins, the tray has a flexible wire structure inside that allows you to shape the form into a customized container or surface. The Natural Shellac Varnish, and Korean lacquer painting (Ottchil) ensures that the Green & dark brown leaves are mildly waterproof .
HANJI Water Lily basket : The Water-Lily basket is flexible and can be shaped with your hands to suit your needs. Water Lily basket isn’t waterproof, so make sure to dry. The Basket is good to store accessories and small sundries.
SUMUK Hanji Notebook : The ‘Hanji Notebook: Sumuk’ cover printed in ink and wash painting by Kim HyunJoo. The simple, minimal, black and white cover design is at the same time ancient and contemporary in feel. Made as a hard cover notebook, it has the feel of a book rather than a notebook. A label sticker is included so you can put a title or name on the cover, and keep it on your bookshelf. It comes in two sizes, Medium and small Make a book with your beautiful story or drawing on the ‘Hanji Notebook: Sumuk’. *Sumuk means an ink and wash (painting) in Korean.

공예디자인 작가이자 제품디자이너인 ‘김현주’는 가구, 조명, 테이블웨어, 제품, 공공디자인, 조형물 작업을 하고 있으며, 자연과 자연 소재을 바탕으로 현대 제품 속에 한국의 미와 공예 정신을 담고자 합니다. 주로 대리석과 한지를 소재로 한 작업을 진행하고 있습니다.

서울트레이_월넛 : 서울의 지도를 단순화 시키는 과정을 통해 비정형 오각형태로 디자인 된 서울트레이의 우드버전입니다. 고급스런 호두나무 원목을 사용하였으며, 트레이 동그랗게 깍인 하단 모서리 디자인은 나무가 주는 따뜻한 느낌을 더욱 돋보이게 합니다. 100% 천연 오일인 영국산 ‘퓨어 텅오일’로 마감하였으며, 텅오일은 린시드오일과 함께 음식이 닿는 제품 및 장난감에 많이 사용되는 오일입니다. 텅오일은 견과류에서 추출된 오일로 견과류 알러지가 있으신 분들은 알러지 반응을 일으킬 수 있습니다.
그린 제주 트레이 : 제주의 지도를 단순화 시킨 비정형 칠각 형태의 트레이로, 푸른섬 제주를 닮은 그린 마블로 제작하였습니다. 다양한 소품과 함께 배치하여 공간을 멋스럽게 연출하는 센터피스로활용 가능하며, 찾잔·다과 ·치즈 트레이로도 활용할 수 있습니다. 대리석은 천연 소재로 이염될 수 있으나, 그린마블로 제작된 제주트레이는 색상이 어두워 흰색 대리석에 비해 이염의 걱정이 비교적 적습니다. 또한, 대리석 바닥면과 트레이를 올려 두는 테이블의 긁힘을 최소화 하고자 바닥면에 폴리우레탄 섬유가 부착되어 있습니다
한지 나뭇잎 트레이 : 한지 나뭇잎 트레이는 가을날의 낙엽을 연상하게 합니다. 한지 고유의 질감에 나뭇잎맥이 입체적으로 돌출된 트레이로, 유연성이 좋은 뼈대 구조가 내장되어 있어, 원하는 형태로 구부려서 사용할 수 있습니다. 한지 고유의 질감을 살린 흰색 제품, 약간 바랜듯한 녹색과 갈색 3가지 컬러로 구성되어 있으며, 흰 색을 제외한 제품은 표면에 셀락 및 옻칠을 하여 생활 방수는 물론 세척하여 재사용 할 수 있습니다.
한지 연잎 트레이 : 한지 연잎트레이는 연꽃잎을 연상하게 합니다. 한지 고유의 질감에 나뭇잎 맥이 입체적으로 돌출된 트레이로, 유연성이 좋은 뼈대 구조가 내장되어 있어, 원하는 형태로 구부려서 사용할 수 있습니다. 한지 고유의 질감을 살린 흰색 제품, 약간 바랜듯한 녹색과 갈색 3가지 컬러로 구성되어 있으며, 흰 색을 제외한 제품은 표면에 셀락 및 옻칠을 하여 생활 방수는 물론 세척하여 재사용 할 수 있습니다 .
한지 수련 바스켓 : 수련바스켓은 원하는 대로 꽃잎을 휘어 형태를 만들 수 있습니다. 책상 위에 두고 사무용 소품을 보관하거나 거실의 작은 소품, 주얼리 등을 수납하는 용도로 사용할 수 있습니다. 수련바스켓은 방수가 되지 않으므로 물에 젖지 않게 사용하시기 바랍니다.
수묵 한지 노트 : 한지에 먹으로 그린 그림을 커버에 담은 ‘한지노트:수묵’은 예술적 감성과 미니멀리즘을 보여줍니다. 또한, 심플한 블랙&화이트 디자인은 전통과 현대의 미를 동시에 느끼게 해줍니다. 하드커버의 묵직함이 노트라기보단 책처럼 느껴지는 제품으로 제목과 이름을 적어 책꽂이에 보관할수 있도록 라벨스티커가 포함되어 있습니다. 미디움/스몰 두 가지 규격이며, 내지는 한지(무지)로 구성되어 있습니다.

+셀락 및 옻칠 제품은 세척할 수 있으나, 세척 후 반드시 물기를 제거하셔서 사용하시기 바랍니다.
+셀락 및 옻칠은 열에 약하므로 차갑거나 건조된 식품, 펜트레이, 주얼리트레이로 사용하시기를 권장합니다.
+흰색 제품은 옻칠 처리가 되어 있지 않아 방수가 불가하며, 세척하여 재사용 할 수 없습니다.
